GROUP TRAINING

Group training for young athletes develops teamwork, communication skills and confidence. It also reduces the feelings of isolation, build social connections and accountability. Many sports are team based and the ability of the team is not based on one athletes’ abilities. Young athletes need to be the best they can be but they also need to bring the rest of the team with them to reach everones’ goals. Group settings encourage young athletes to work together and inspire other athletes to work yo their fullest potential. Group training teaches leadership valueswhich are hard to teach in a one-on-one session because there are no other athletes to fail with them.athletes ina group training session tend to constantly push each other physically and mentally. Athletes will gain the knowledge of competing to able to compete with an opponent, athletes that have healthy competition with their teammates will learn to compete with themselves.

  • Confidence and self-esteem: group training will build confidence, self esteem and confidence in communication skills that will help the athlete reach personal achievements. These will all lead to skills used in other parts of their lives.
  • Teamwork: young athletes will experience failure and success that will boost camaraderie and morale. Athletes in a group training environment will use each others energy and motivation to reach their goals as a team.
  • Social connections: youth athlete training can counter feelings of isolation and build friendships and relationships with their peers.
  • Injury prevention: resistance training along with other exercises will prepare young athletes joints and muscles for the rigorous demands of that sport. Better conditioning and training will reduce the possibility of injury.
  • Mental health:exercises that are used in youth group training can release endorphins that can lessen the symptoms of anxiety and depression.a young athletes group training will increase mental strength and prepare them for life’s challenges.

YOUTH GROUP TRAINING CONTENT

  • Cardio Respiratory Training for Sports Performance
  • Duration of training- 6 consecutive days total.
  • Days 1 and 6 are assessment days- they consist of various athletic drills used to evaluate a students overall athletic ability and are used to track student’s improvements.
  • Day 1-  Assessment day
  • Day 2- Cardio Balance Training
  • Day 3- Cardio Endurance training.
  • Day 4- Cardio Strength training.
  • Day 5- Cardio Speed training.
  • Day 6- Final Assessment Day 
  • Typical session would start on a Monday and finish on Saturday.
  • Equipment Necessary for training will be provided by the Razors Edge SPT.
  • Students are required to have plenty of water (32 oz recommended daily) , sport towel, athletic attire, sneakers only , no spikes or cleats.
  • Session includes electronic timing of a 40 yd dash.

Group Rates

The Razors Edge Sports Performance Training is fully insured. We also carry up to date, NYS harassment and Discrimination Prevention and Intervention, Identification and Reporting of Child abuse and Maltreatment, School Violence and Intervention certificates.
